Sacramento County Reaps Benefits from Energy Retrofits 

The County of Sacramento is wrapping up an energy efficiency project at a number of their buildings at their Branch Center complex off of Bradshaw Road. This project was managed by Siemens Building Technologies and includes high-efficiency air-conditioning units and lighting and a 100 kW solar panel array from Solar City that is large enough to power more than 20 homes.  All together these measures are projected to save the County over $100,000 in energy costs and reduce our CO2 emissions by over 800 metric tons per year.  Additionally the County will receive over $300,000 in rebates from SMUD for this effort.  There will be a presentation of the rebate check at the Board of Supervisors meeting on May 27, 2008.

Appointment of Frederick B. Garcia as County Clerk/Recorder

On May 6, 2008, the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors appointed Frederick B. Garcia as County Clerk/Recorder effective June 1, 2008. His last position was Assistant County Clerk/Recorder for Alameda County. Please join us in welcoming Frederick to his new position!
